Police Blotter: Burglary on Knollwood, Purse Stolen from Car

Highlights from recent Clawson Police Department reports:

House robbed of safe, TV, documents

A resident on Knollwood Boulevard reported that someone broke into his house on Oct. 27 and stole several items.

The resident told police he left his house around 8 a.m. and when he returned at 3 p.m. he discovered his 42-inch Panasonic plasma TV and a roll of coins worth $25 were missing. The resident later reported the theft of his home safe, which contained a rare gold coin valued at $750, passports and other documents, police said. The resident told police he also believed someone had went through his jewelry box and his daughter's drawer.

The back door to the house appeared to be forcefully kicked in and damaged, police said. 

A neighbor reported seeing a black vehicle in the victim's driveway around 10:30 a.m. and heard the car doors slam.

There are no suspects in this incident.

Theft on West Elmwood

A resident on the 1400 block of West Elmwood told police someone broke the driver's side window of his car and stole a child's pink change purse containing $5 between 2-8 a.m. Sunday. There are no suspects.

Item thrown at car, breaking window

A Clawson man reported that someone threw an unknown object at his car window Saturday night while he was turning from South Main Street onto Jefferson. The rear passenger window of the man's Dodge Stratus was broken, the police report said. The victim said he observed a large group of males running on South Main but was unable to catch up with them. There were no witnesses identified, the report stated.
