Police Blotter: Man Claims He Received Counterfeit Bill

The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.

Counterfeit Bill

A Canton resident made a recent report to Clawson police saying that he received a counterfeit bill from the Dairy O approximately one month ago. The man told police he was handed a $10 bill as change for his purchase. However, when he tried to use the bill at a gas station at a later time, he was then told it was counterfeit, according to police reports. The man told police he wanted to exchange the bill with the business saying he felt it was their responsibility but the business refused, saying there no way to verify that the bill was originally from there. Officers took the bill from the man and disposed of it correctly.
