Police Blotter: Lawn Equipment Stolen, Unlocked Cars Entered

Highlights from recent reports to the :

Lawn equipment stolen

A Clawson resident told police someone stole his weed trimmer and hand-held leaf blower from the front yard of a house on the 200 block of Chocolay Avenue the morning of May 2.

A police report says the man left the lawn equipment sitting near trash cans and when he returned, the items were gone. A neighbor reported seeing two women in a maroon-colored van leave the neighborhood. Before the van pulled off, one of the women was seen looking in the area near the trash cans, a police report says. No one was able to track down the women, police say.

Mailbox forced open

The landlord of an apartment building on the 100 block of East Elmwood told police someone pried open a mailbox used for tenants to deposit their rent checks the night of May 3. Police say they observed the mailbox lock was bent backward. It is unknown if any checks were in the mailbox at the time. There were no suspects.

Unlocked cars entered

Residents on the 600 and 700 blocks of Shenandoah reported that some time between Friday night and Saturday morning, a person or persons went through their unlocked cars parked outside.

A police report says one resident reported items removed from the center console of two of his vehicles, but nothing was stolen; another resident said sunglasses and loose change were stolen from a family vehicle; and another resident reported someone went through the center console of his vehicle.

There was no damage to any of the four vehicles reported.
