Police Blotter: Man Cited for Indecent Exposure, Driver Arrested July 4

A Clawson man was cited around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday for urinating near the south end of the City Park lot, according to . Officers said they spotted the man with his genitals exposed, standing next to a tree. When an officer called out to the man, he looked at the officer and continued to urinate, the police report said. According to the report, the man had bloodshot eyes and registered a 0.22 blood-alcohol level when police tested him. Officers cited the man for indecent exposure and released him at the scene to walk home. 

Driver arrested, arraigned

A 23-year-old Ferndale man was arrested and cited Monday night after driving a blue van through Clawson while intoxicated, according to a police report. Police said they pulled the driver over around 9 p.m. on Englewood Avenue, east of Rochester Road, after watching him cross over from the curb lane to the through lane twice, traveling over the curb and onto the grass. A witness had earlier reported to police that the driver almost hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk on Rochester Road, the report said.

Officers noted in the police report that the man had red and watery eyes and that there was a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his vehicle. The Ferndale man failed a series of field sobriety tests and registered a 0.242 blood-alcohol level, the report said. The legal limit is 0.08. He was arrested and arraigned in court Wednesday.

Triple tire damage reported

A resident on the 1100 block of Wright Drive told police she believes someone damaged her left driver'd side tire on three separate occasions in June. The first incident was June 1, when the woman said her tire began to make loud noises while she was driving, according to a police report. When she took the tire in for repair, she discovered that the bolts holding the calipers were missing, and she had the problem corrected, the report said. On June 15, she found a nail in her tire, and on June 30, she discovered the tire had been slashed on the side wall, the report said. The vehicle is a 2005 Grand Prix.
