String of Home Invasions Strike Clawson; Crimes May Be Connected, Police Say

The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.

Three home invasions have been reported to the Clawson Police Department by residents since Oct. 19.

According to Detective Lt. Scott Sarvello, officers believe the three crimes may be connected, with the suspect entering and exiting the property on foot or by bicycle.

The first crime happened on Oct. 19 in the 300 block of West Tacoma; the second on Oct. 24 in the 200 block of Park Drive; and the third as recently as Oct. 25 in the 200 block of Lincoln.

In each of the separate incidents, the suspect entered the home by way of an unlocked window during the daytime, when the victims were at work. Items including an X-Box, jewelry and an iPad have been reported missing.

Anyone who notices suspicious activity or has any information about the incidents is asked to call 9-1-1 or Clawson Police at 248-435-5000.

This is the exact same time the home invasions were reported last year. My home was one of those in Nov last year. No fault of the Clawson Police but it won't do any good to catch them . . . the person who entered my home sat in jail until his sentencing then, was given one year among other restitutions by the judge and never spent one single day after his sentencing. I checked OTIS to find they released him with probation to the city of Troy. Catch the intruder yourself and beat the shit out of them.

We never of known, if a relative of the home owner on Park St. hadn't asked Patch to find out what info was out there. Seems strange, other P D's get the word out ASAP so the good old neighborhood watch, does it's thing. Seems like CPD likes to be secretive. Thanks Patch,

As fas I know, no one was nabbed in Birmingham. A lady found someone hiding in her basement. He got away.

Part of the problem with these criminals is two-fold...(a) they are usually young; (b) this is usually their first arrest....just because it's the first time they've gotten caught doesn't mean it's an isolated single crime they've committed. The courts are much tougher wherever the law mandates a specific sentence....a 15 year old having sex with his 15 year old girlfriend will be on the sex offender's registry for a MINIMUM of 25 years (now that's a great deterrant, as long as parents take the time to instill the ramifications from that into their child before they commit the act). Alot of these other "petty crimes" are committed by teens and young adults who hang out with other like-minded individuals, all of whom laugh at their experiences with the legal system.
