Police Say Clawson Residents Protected Senior Couple from Abuse

A Southfield woman, 28, is expected to face charges stemming from an incident in front of Dollar Tree on Saturday afternoon.

Clawson Police are asking the city attorney to a charge a Southfield woman, 28, with menacing a senior citizen couple on Saturday afternoon.

Three witnesses—two women and a man, all from Clawson—who were in front of Dollar Tree where the alleged incident took place, gave police the the license plate number of her vehicle to track her down, the Daily Tribune reports.

Police said that the incident stemmed started when an 88-year-old man from Royal Oak stopped his car in front of the store to let his 86-year-old wife out of their car. The woman "started a screaming match" with witnesses who intervened, according to the report, before she drove off.
