Sidewalk Preacher Arrested in Royal Oak and More Crime Nearby

Sidewalk Preacher Arrested on Disorderly Conduct Charge
Royal Oak Police confirm a preacher was arrested last Friday near Fourth and Main streets and faces charges of disordely conduct and disturbing the peace.

Brian Lane, co-owner of Bingo Pet Salon on Fourth Street, said the young preacher uses a step stool and a microphone to protest against homosexuality.

TROYMan Charged with Exposing Himself in Troy, Royal Oak
Brian Patrick Jones, 24, of Mt. Clemens has been arrested and charged with exposing himself to children and adults last month in Troy and Royal Oak.

Jones is charged with one count of indecent exposure, which is punishable by 93 days in jail. A pre-trial hearing is set for Aug. 13 in Troy’s 52-4 District Court.

ROCHESTER: Barber's Belongings Prompt Call About Suspicious Package

Deputies responded to a home at the 2900 block of Pheasant Ring near Eagle Drive for a report of a suspicious package left on the doorstep of a home in the neighborhood, according to Sheriff's officials.

Deputies requested a bomb dog to sniff out the suspicious package, but the call was canceled when deputies found the package belonged to a barber who was at the residence providing haircuts for the family. 

BIRMINGHAM: Woman Cited for Public Urination at the Peabody
Officers with the Birmingham Police Department cited a woman for urinating outside the Peabody restaurant last week, police reports said. An officer spotted the woman urinating in the alley between the restaurant and Old Woodward Avenue at abut 2:30 a.m. on June 15. 

The woman was released with the ticket and has a hearing pending in 48th District Court.
