4 Candidates Vie for 2 City Council Seats
Mayor Penny Luebs and school board candidate Jessica Back are running uncontested.
Election Day is Tuesday and Patch is here is educate you on all the candidates before you hit the polls.
City Council candidates
A longtime Clawson resident who regularly attends City Council meetings. He is involved in the Clawson Lions Club, Clawson Eagles, American Legion and Zoning Board of Appeals.
An active community volunteer raising two children in Clawson. He is a Clawson Youth Soccer assistant coach, Cub Scouts volunteer and event and field trip volunteer.

A father and third party freight broker who has been the Clawson Mavericks general manager for the past three years.
Airriess, running for a second term, grew up in Clawson and has been active in the community for decades. He is a member of the Clawson Lions Club, Clawson Eagles, American Legion and formerly served on the city Planning Commission.

School board candidate
Jessica Back is running unopposed for the open school board seat in the Nov. 8 election. Back has two children at Schalm Elementary School and she is involved in Girl Scouts, PTA, Clawson Youth Soccer and Clawson Mavericks. Back says cut funding is a hot-button issue and the district should seek public and private grant money.
The mayor
Mayor Penny Luebs is a full-time social worker and dedicates much of her time to volunteering in Clawson. Before she was elected as mayor, she served four years as a City Councilwoman. She is involved with Clawson Youth Assistance, Friends of the Library, Relay for Life, the Jimmy Marvin Scholarship committee, 4th of July committee, school events and more. Luebs has five children and seven grandchildren.
