Filing Deadline Approaches for City Council Candidates

If you feel that your ideas for Clawson government can work, or you just want to give your time to help, you can run for City Council.

Three seats at the board table are up for election in November and the deadline to file your intention to run is Aug. 13 by 4 p.m. at the Clawson City Clerk's office.

The seats of Mayor Penny Luebs (two-year term), and Councilmembers Kathy Phillips and Tom Palmer (each four-year terms) are up for election. More details:

Qualifications

  • At least 25 years of age.
  • A citizen of the United States and a registered elector of the city.
  • A resident of Clawson at least two years, and an owner of real property assessed for taxes in the city, or the lawful wife or husband of such person.

  • Affidavit of identity.
  • Non-partisan city nominating petitions containing between 25-50 (no more or less) registered electors of the city.
