Oakland County Animal Services Contract, Farmers Market Dates Approvals on the City Council Agenda

City Council to approve dates for local events, consider a contract with Oakland County Animal Services.

Animal Services

The council will vote on a contract with Oakland County Animal Control Services. The city has contracted with Troy Animal Control Services since November 2005, but will decide tonight if they should use the county's service which is provided at no fee. The city has previously paid Troy $13,668 each year to use their animal services.  

“It’s a good move for us," Clawson Mayor Penny Luebs said. “It will return money back into our budget.”

Event Approvals

The council will approve the dates for several events to be held in the city this year. Among the events are the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 16 at Clawson City Park, Clawson Youth Assistance' Recognition Award event at on May 4, and the 2nd Annual Kids Garage Sale at City Park on June 25.

The council will also approve the dates of operation for the Clawson Farmer's Market, which kicks off May 22 with a Flower Day and every Sunday beginning July 17 through September. They will also consider a request from the Clawson Lions Club to hold their 13th Annual "Downtown on Main Street" Car Show on Aug. 13.
