Plan to Vote in November? Register by Oct. 9

Voters may register or pick up an absent voter ballot application at city hall.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election is just around the corner.

Troy residents have until Oct. 9 to register at Clawson City Hall, any Secretary of State office or by mail. In order to vote, you must:

  • be 18 years or older on or before election day
  • be a citizen of the U.S.
  • have lived in Michigan for at least 30 days
  • be registered on or before the close of registration

Those who aren't able to go to the polls on election day may cast an absentee ballot. To download the application, visit the city's website or download the PDF file in this article.

Requests to have an absentee voter ballot mailed to you must be received by the Clawson City Clerk no later than 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Voters have until 8 p.m. on election day to complete the ballot and return it to the clerk's office.

Additional information about voting in the City of Clawson is available on the city's website or by calling the Clawson City Clerk's office at 248-435-4500, extension 116 or 118. For more information about voting in Michigan, visit the Michigan Voter Information Center
