Poll: Why Didn't You Vote?

For those who skipped the polls on Tuesday, we want to know your reasons.

At the end of Election Day on Tuesday, one thing was clear about the majority of registered voters in Clawson: they didn't vote.

City officials said voter turnout was 14 percent. There are a total of 9,322 registered voters in Clawson and 1,316 voted on Tuesday. City Clerk Machele Kukuk said she expected at least 18-20 percent voter turnout, which is average for a city election.

Kukuk said the uncontested mayoral and school board races likely played a role in the low turnout. And for City Council, there were four candidates running for two open seats. But apparently that wasn't enough to bring most of the voters out.
