Clawson Schools Honors Retirees for Service to District

Superintendent Cheryl Rogers is among those leaving this year.

Seven Clawson Schools retirees were honored Monday evening for their notable contributions to the district, receiving gifts and words of appreciation from fellow staff members.

It was an especially emotional evening for Superintendent Cheryl Rogers, who attended her last official school board meeting as head of the district. is effective June 30. She has worked in the district since 2007.

"It's very hard for me to let go," Rogers said, after shedding a few tears. "I wish only the best for this district and I know good things are ahead."

Monique Beels, assistant superintendent of Grosse Pointe Schools, . Beels was in the audience at the meeting Monday. She will attend her first school board meeting as superintendent July 9.

  • Patti Buscher — a paraprofessional at
  • Julie Bokor — a special education teacher and coordinator at Baker Preschool
  • Rita Davis-Kramer — a special education teacher at
  • Catherine DuLong — a math teacher at
  • Peggie Perry — a paraprofessional at Clawson High School who retired May 1
  • Gloria Landry — a custodian at Baker Preschool who retired in February
