Sola Life & Fitness/Clawson Farmers Market nutrition seminar for parents

Looking for healthy school lunch options to pack for your children? Sola Life & Fitness, Beaumont Health System’s medically based fitness center in Rochester Hills, will present parents with a healthy eating seminar and cooking demonstration at the Clawson Farmers Market on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 12:30 p.m.

The free seminar will provide information on what makes a lunch healthy, the benefits of nutritious lunches for children and how to teach kids to make better food choices. It also will include a question and answer session. The cooking demonstration will teach parents how to prepare a healthy, quick and delicious packed lunch containing fresh Michigan apples and other produce readily available at themarket.

Stephanie Vella, RD, will lead this seminar. Vella has a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Michigan State University and is an expert on childhood nutrition, meal planning for families and local food. She also is available for one-on-one nutrition counseling at Sola, where she creates dietary roadmaps to help clients prevent and manage conditions including diabetes, heart disease, gluten intolerance and more.
