Girl Scout Cookie Season: Trefoils, Samoas, Thin Mints and More

You can support local Girl Scout troops at several upcoming cookie sales.

Local Girl Scout troops are in the season of cookie selling.

The Girl Scouts will be setting up booths at businesses across Metro Detroit through March 25, said Clawson Girl Scout Recruitment Coordinator Jessica Back.

Clawson has local troops at Guardian Angels, Schalm Elementary, Kenwood Elementary and Clawson Middle School.

Boxes of cookies cost $3.50 each and come in eight different flavors: Trefoils, Tagalongs, Samoas, Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos, Dulce De Leche, Thank U Berry Munch, and a new lemon cookie, Savannah Smiles, in honor of this year's 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting. Customers will also have a chance to donate cookies to troops overseas through the "Troops to Troops" program.

Back said the cookie sales benefit the young girls in many ways. She said the Girl Scouts learn business skills such as marketing, networking and goal setting. Cookie proceeds help fund camping trips and community service projects.
