Kara Rosso-Rieck Resigns from School Board, District to Fill Vacancy

The Clawson School Board is accepting applications for those interested in the opening.

The is looking to fill a vacancy after trustee Kara Rosso-Rieck resigned from the school board last week. The district said Rosso-Rieck no longer meets the residency requirements.

Those interested in applying for the position must submit a formal letter of application including a brief biography about previous school involvement and any other qualifications they want the school board to consider. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Sept. 7.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, a resident in the Clawson School District, a registered voter and eligible under the state constitution to be elected to public office.

The school board will interview candidates at its next regular board meeting Sept. 12.

Applications should be submitted to School Board President Kevin Turner, 626 Phillips Ave., Clawson, MI 48017 or faxed to Linda Gould at 248-655-4422.
