Kenwood Elementary Donates to Conservation Organization, Adopts Tiger

A stuffed Tiger set up at the media center will remind students of the school's donation.

As part of its effort to be a , has adopted an endangered Tiger with funds donated to the World Wildlife Fund.

The adoption is more so symbolic and a stuffed tiger sits in the school's media center to remind students of their quest to help wildlife. WWF is a conservation organization that strives to protect the habitats of endangered species. 

The Kenwood Student Council gave $50 to support the WWF's efforts and the organization sent them a kit that included a stuffed tiger and adoption certificate.

"The kids were excited that they were going to be able to adopt an animal," said Erin Michalak, faculty advisor for student council.

Michalak said student council representatives visited each classroom to discuss the adoption and students voted on which animal the school would adopt.
