families raised $2,406 at a walk-a-thon Friday for a student who is recovering from multiple surgeries.

The students walked two laps in honor of 10-year-old Alexis Sarvello.

Alexis, also known as Lulu, was diagnosed with a brain tumor on May 2 and is now in Children's Hospital of Michigan. All proceeds will go directly to the Sarvello family to aid with medical expenses, Kenwood PTA member Shannon Gougeon said.
