Whiz Kid of the Week: Diana Davis

The rising high school freshman shines in academic success, awards and community involvement.

Name: Diana Davis

School: Diana will be one of the five students representing Clawson for the class of 2016 at the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills.

Accomplishment: Diana completed her years at East Hills Middle School with multiple accomplishments including a 4.0 GPA, Honor Roll, Outstanding Citizenship (all A's for all marking periods for all three middle school years) and was awarded a ranking of "1" for Solo and Ensemble (MSBOA). She was also a member of the National Honor Society; Student Council; Science Olympiad Competitive team medaling at regionals; participated in basketball, volleyball, diving, swimming, and soccer teams and was active in numerous school clubs such as the sign language club and fiddle club.

Key to Awesomeness: Family and community are important to Diana and she is often the first to volunteer a helping hand, friends and relatives say. She volunteers for holiday wish programs, Leader Dogs for the Bind, Empty Bowls, Clawson's Easter Egg Hunt, the Princess and Young Miss Clawson pageants, provides tours to new parents and other activities at school and more. In her spare time Diana enjoys wake boarding, jet skiing and chasing her dog with the 4-by-4 on the beach in Oscoda, MI.
