At a Glance: Clawson Football Looking For Third Straight Win

The Trojans hoping to open season 3-0 for second consecutive year with win over New Haven on Friday.

It’s a relatively light week for varsity sports teams coming off the holiday weekend.

Only the volleyball and boys soccer squads have two games apiece this week, but both those games for the boys will be Macomb Area Conference Gold division matchups.

The varsity football team is coming off a big 45-0 shutout win over Warren Lincoln last week. The team is 2-0 on the season and has a good chance to move to 3-0 this Friday facing a New Haven team that hasn’t won a game since September of 2009. The Trojans have played the Rockets since 2008 and in three games have outscored them 134-16. Two of the games (2008 and 2010) were shutouts.

An important game against Marine City next week hopefully won’t distract Clawson from handling New Haven on Friday night.

Here’s a look at the full sports schedule this week, all Clawson home games are at Clawson City Park unless otherwise noted.
