Late Clawson Coach to be Honored with Field Dedication Saturday

Judy Rae Hacker will be honored at Clawson Middle School Sept. 15.

Gone, but not forgotten.

Judy Rae Hacker was not only a coach and mentor to female athletes across Clawson, but also their role model. No matter what team she was in charge of - softball, field hockey or volleyball - a countless number of young women looked up to Hacker as she pioneered the way for girls' sports programs in the city.

Though she passed away in April of last year, her legacy still lives on in the Clawson community.

To celebrate Hacker, will host a special ceremony this Saturday at 11 a.m at the school's softball diamond, which will be dedicated to Hacker's memory. A special "inaugural" softball game will follow. Those who wish to reunite further and celebrate Hacker are invited to meet up at 12:30 p.m after the game at the .

All donations made will help support the purchase of the "Hacker Field" sign and other future improvements to the field, as well as assist in providing the girls’ programs with sports equipment and scholarships.
