With three games on the schedule, the Trojans will finally get a chance to flex their skills on the court. It plays Warren Woods Tower on Tuesday and then goes on the road for games against Marine City on Wednesday and Centerline on Thursday.

It will be the first time this season Clawson plays on consecutive days. The reshuffling of the Warren Woods match means the Trojans won’t get a day off this week.

The boys will be looking for their first true win of the season. They are 1-3, but the lone win was a victory by default when Mt. Clemens didn’t show up for a scheduled match.

Marine City made it four wins in a row over the Clawson varsity football team on Friday.

The Trojans (3-1; 2-0 Macomb Area Conference Bronze division) really struggled in a 48-21 loss.

Starting quarterback Blake Blue was benched in the fourth quarter. In the first half he was only 4-for-10 passing for 58 yards with two interceptions at halftime. He wasn’t much better in the third and showed signs of being visible frustrated on the field.

Coach Jim Sparks pulled him out of the game, but he will be back under center on Saturday when the Trojans take on Centerline at noon. The Panthers are 0-4 on the season and have allowed 40 points three out of its four games this season.

Clawson should be able to bounce back this week in a big way and get back on track. Sparks said his team still has a lot to accomplish this season.

"We want to win our division," Sparks told Patch after the loss. "We want to go to the playoffs. We've never been out of the second round and ultimately we want to play at Ford Field (in the state championship) one day.”
