Due to a job change, I am a month between pay check and opted to try a cheaper hair cut. It was NOT worth it. The whole experience was not one I would recommend. First, my stylist had been a cigarette break. There was still hair on the floor around her work station. She shook off the cape and put it not me. She picked up the comb and scissors and started to work. So, cleanliness is not included in the discount price. I showed her the photo of the style I like, the same photo I always show. But the stylist went and gave me the cut she wanted to give me. I like the top longer, as I have a cowlick. She cut it extremely short! When I stopped her and asked how short she was cutting it, she said she was only 'thinning' my hair so it would not be heavy. I am not pleased at all. If you visit this salon, be VERY proactive in overseeing your cut. And I would demand a cleaner environment before the cut began.

I am deeply upset over the treatment of a family member at the Clawson, MI Fantastic Sam's location. My brother has gone to that salon for approximately 14 years. Earlier this week he was there for his usual hair cut, when the stylists (apparently of Russian decent) began cutting down Americans as "fat and lazy". One stylist went on to put her finger in my brother's face, explaining to him that "this country is finished". I understand that the United States is not perfect, and as a country, we have many shortcomings. But didn't these ladies come her from somewhere else to find better opportunities and a better life? People clammor over themselves to get here, sometimes dying in the process. As the wife of an Army vetran I am so offended. We are all entitled to different points of view, but it's extremely bad for business to berate and run off customers based on their country of origin. Apparently the Fantastic Sam's in Clawson, MI does not need American customers or money. I, for one, will never darken the doors of a Fantastic Sam's again.
