Sick, sick, sick. The worst thing is this crook still has supporters and a job. If this were a guyRead More in corporate America you would be asking for life in prison. But a priest is above all. Sick- it's time that you that allow this sickness to do what is right and stop accepting this and worse behavior. The people that support this loser and church are the reason that this stuff keeps happening. This is one area the people have the power to change. If there is a shortage- so be it, less sexual predators and losers in power.

They broke the law.... and they got what they deserved. There are few things worse than invading aRead More person home. Two less criminals in society. People say they were just two dumb kids.... I say they were two dumb young criminals who were going to become two dumb older criminals. If they started out at a young age invading peoples homes, what would they be doing in a few more years.... probably murderous acts. Good for him.... NOT GUILTY !

Not guilty. These guys were armed with guns hiding out in his basement. Perhaps shot the guy in theRead More face was extensive but be as it may he probably was in fear for his life

He did to much,Okay these teens must of been watching the house for awhile and saw no movement andRead More broke in.But one shot was enough no matter how mad are nuts he went,So one has to wonder what the girl was thinking after she heard the shot ,that she did not get out of there ,Which leaves the Question when she saw that the boy was shot when she went down the basement did she start to go after the guy.Are did he shoot her coming down the steps.

Northville spans between Oakland County and Wayne County. I think 8 Mile Road / Baseline road isRead More the border?
David Anderson April 24, 2014 at 08:43 am
A third of the ranking is dependent on the school's student participation in AP or IB. This is theRead More only indicator, according to the study, of college readiness. Seems too simplistic to me. What about those students who are not enrolled in IB and AP who go on to college. Isn't there a way to track college (or other post-high school) graduation back to the high school from where the student matriculated? Wouldn't this be a "better" indicator of college readiness?

It's hilarious to read the unwarranted, seething hatred displayed here for Hilary Clinton. I meanRead More I really despised your president shrubbery but I didn't make a fool out of myself, going on message boards and calling him a dirty bastard. You people need to get over yourselves and get a hobby other than hating for the sake of hating. You'll live a longer life!
Jerry April 24, 2014 at 08:57 am
Dear dee marie and Mike, I only have one thing to say read up on the liberal attack of SarahRead More Palin---you have no shame. ps "Chelsea Clinton for ambassador to Libya"
Michael Hipp April 24, 2014 at 09:10 am
Hey Jerry, I am talking about you specific people on this specific blog post with my originalRead More comment. I, personally, don't give two farts about Sarah Palin or any of her prodigy, and I never once went on any message board or blog post and said the first thing about her or president shrubbery..... and I said as much in my original post. Now, if you'd like to berate me on the point of my post instead of your perceived sins of all liberals, please do. Until and unless you are ready to do that though, I invite you to not lump me with anybody else because I'm an individual.... and maybe learn how to comprehend what you're reading while you're at it.

this "to me" is not funny, the swat teams are used for serious issues, hostage taking,Read More etc. to have a swat team called to a home behind a video game is stupid, these swat members are trained to save lives, etc. to be called to a home behind a video game is not funny, what happens if a REAL call comes in and swat is needed there, I hope they catch the idiot that called swat and he gets what he/she deserves

TO THE EDITOR....I'm seriously disappointed by the removal of peoples comments overnight.... If youRead More cannot see the flow and context of comments made,, how is one supposed to understand the comments you read? The young man, Black Panther was defending himself and his position in the face of raw bigotry and you removed that?? When you invite unfettered comments from people on a forum such as this,, CENSORSHIP HAS NO PLACE. You either put on your big boy/girl panties and allow Free Speech to run it's course,,, of you SHUT THIS DOWN. I'm so surprised at your actions. Not good!
Bob Zahm April 24, 2014 at 09:23 am
@Love All - not sure what comments were removed, but looking if they were anything like the racistRead More trash "monkey" lewis posts, they violate terms of service and should be removed.

Duct tape keeps the world together. Both of those low lifes deserved duct tape, and a lot moreRead More misconfort. We always seem to forget the victims. Both killers should be hung from their necks with duct tape....they don't deserve life.

Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.

Why do I have a problem with the Gates foundation? I think I said it before. They funded theRead More organizations that wrote the standards. They funded the organizations that reviewed the standards. They fuinded every group that supposedly had "input" into the development of the standards. There is NO record of what the "input" consisted of, or if any of it was implemented. All we really have on record is the Content advisor for Mathematics, Jim Milgrim, prof. at Stanford, explaining why he refused to endorse the math standard. We have the English Language content advisor, Sandra Slotsky, explaining why she, likewise, could not sign off on the standards. And she explains that she has sat on many such committees before, in her role in developing Massachussetts very well-respected standards, and she said that this is the first time she was required to sign a non-disclosure. She said such committees are usually subject to "Sunshine" laws. These are specific people, highly qualified people, giving specific and detailed testimony. But you would rather keep pointing to the CC website vaguely referring to "how educators were involved".
The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on affirmative action in college admissions.
Racer Boy April 23, 2014 at 02:56 pm
It's how a democracy works. The Supreme Court has clarified what rights the State's have. If U of MRead More wants more diversity, just lsimply ower their overall entrance standards. Maybe a 2.3 GPA would satisfy those that think personal achievement shouldn't matter. Then you would end up with a school like Wayne State University that showcases their diversity with a 4-year graduation rate of 9.7%....that's right....9.7%!!! That's what artificially achieved diversity gets you.
Love All April 23, 2014 at 03:10 pm
Liars figure,, and figures lie. You can make statistics say whatever you want them to say. The onlyRead More variable is which side is using the stats. It is well known that Universities like UM do not admit every single freshman that applies. Only a biased, myopic view of race would lead one to believe that not using affirmative action will now see every last white freshman that applies, accepted. Seriously people,,, you cannot legislate or vote in discrimination under the guise of "states rights". The ban on gay marriage in Michigan WILL be overturned.
cookiepro2 April 23, 2014 at 04:06 pm
Regardless of affirmative action, U of M will do what it needs to do to maintain its academicRead More ranking. It's not going to endanger its brand name, so to speak. Its funding depends on its reputation and its sizable materially successful alumni base. I have no beef with the recruited star athletes either, they are excellent at what they do, and bring in tremendous revenue and fans, think of it as a different kind of intelligence, no less to be respected. Graduate school where U of M excels, IMO, will never be accused of letting anyone in just because of race...there are the GRE, LSAT, MCAT , GMAT tests, very competitive; you've got to have the right stuff.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! Sorry, Autistic boy, but there are a multitude of crimes here. These so called 'friends' abused youRead More terribly ~ called 'bullying', & that alone cannot be tolerated. Then, there is animal cruelty involved, another terrible crime, plus, harassment of all kinds, leudness, & who knows what else. These 'friends' need to be charged & made aware of the seriousness of their deeds, punished accordingly & helped through proper mental councelling.

Has anyone here looked into topical pain management to fight arthritis pain? These prescription painRead More gels provide relief when and where you need it with no side effects or pills. I had a virus a few years ago (around age 30) that gave me symptoms like arthritis and the docsRead More treated me with arthritis meds while the virus did it's course. Anyway, it was miserable. My joints were swollen and painful and I also thought this is only supposed to happen to older people. I couldn't imagine having it as a child knowing it progressively gets worse. that has to be tough. I only dealt with it a few weeks and it went away. :-( Those kids are tough! I hope they find better treatments.
Steve Utash is still unable to distinguish reality from delusions nearly three weeks after he was attacked by a mob on Detroit's east side, his family says. (Go Fund Me photo)
RON Ostrodamus April 22, 2014 at 01:21 pm
Thugs AND racists. These are terms excusing those who drop down to the level of mob, or what I wouldRead More describe more as pack behavior found in the animal kingdom. Society has failed to deal with this problem for centuries. It just tries to define it with labels. That these monsters still exhibit the same behavior in the courtroom conclusively defines this as a hate crime. The scary part is that someday they will be turned loose to do whatever they please. A good reason to carry protection in the world these creeps inhabit.
RON Ostrodamus April 22, 2014 at 01:44 pm
Add that as "Cummings" brandished a handgun at Utash before shouting "I am going toRead More kill him" underscores the need for stop and frisk no matter the outcry that this is discriminatory in a mostly African American neighborhood. I am sick and tired of seeing the race card played when public safety for ALL is as stake. I would take being frisked over being beaten, or shot to death anytime. That sensitivity and better police training is needed in these situations is a given. I am sure all citizens living in a high crime area would prefer extended police powers to more crime.
Racer Boy April 22, 2014 at 05:57 pm
I TOTALLY agree on "stop and frisk" policies. But, all citizens living in high crime areasRead More DO NOT prefer extended Police powers. As a matter of fact, they hate the police, they refuse to "rat" on those criminals that inhabit their neighborhoods, they work to stymie crime solving. You clearly have spent no time in the jungles of Detroit or you would not have made that statement.

I agree with B. Dub 100%! How was this kid able to scale a fence and just walk right over to theRead More plane? TSA: for all the harassing you do in the terminal...you ain't all that!! As far as the kid being a runaway..maybe he does face some serious abuse issues at home. He's damn lucky to be alive. But, I raised three boys, and a 16 year old boy can runaway for any collage of reasons. My kids never ran away but, I'm wondering if the fact that the plane was going to HAWAII has anything to do with it. It sounds a little compulsive to me. CPA need good follow up on this. Thank you lucky stars kid!

There are two separate issues here. The first and certainly the most obvious is security failure.Read More The second is to determine what is in the best interest of the teen, as well as the public.. He needs a psych eval, at the very least. Then again, so does most of the public.
