Grumpy's in Clawson Plans to Close Its Doors

The 50s style diner has been open since 2007.

Grumpy's in Clawson is closing its doors at the end of the month. The 50s style diner, which opened in 2007, will close on March 30, owner Doug Doney said Thursday. Doney did not want to comment on why they are closing but said he does not have plans to reopen. "We've had great support from the people of Clawson and the customers in the area. It's been real helpful," said Doney, who owns Grumpy's with his wife Wanda. "We're sorry that this thing is going down the way it's going down." Grumpy's, located at 230 S. Main Street in Clawson, offers burgers, fries, shakes, deli sandwiches and more in a distinctly vintage atmosphere. 2 Clawson Eateries Close Up While Another's Fate Looms

Dunkin' Donuts and Great Sport Coffee are officially out of business. Is a fast food joint next?

First came Dunkin' Donuts, followed by Great Sport Coffee and now, there's a theory that Burger King may follow suit. The closing of these establishments last week has many folks around Clawson buzzing with speculation, and wondering why these longtime city businesses are packing up and leaving town. Patch spoke with Clawson City Manager and Finance Director Mark Pollock recently who gave us an insight into what's contributed to the downfall of these eateries. B K , (must of been a franchise location) their equipment seems to have been confiscated by the Tax man, (means it will be in spring auction out at building 16 Oak. Co.
