2012 World Series Sound Off: Which Tunes Get You Pumped for a Big Game?

As the Detroit Tigers prepare to come home to Detroit for Games 3, 4 and 5 against the San Francisco Giants, we want to know what songs you listen to in order to get in the mood for some baseball.

With Game 1 behind us (and erased from our memories), it's time to get excited again about being in the 2012 World Series. And what better way to do that than to turn up the volume on your stereo or online playlist. But what is it that you're listening to? While San Francisco might like the sounds of indie rock They Might Be Giants, Detroit has Eye of the Tiger and the famed Detroit Rock City, just to name a few. Tell us your favorites in the comments below and we'll string together a playlist on Spotify to share with everyone. And if you need a playlist immediately, check out the ones The Huffington Post put together for the Tigers and the Giants.

Tigers to Face A's in the Playoffs

The Detroit Tigers will face the Oakland A's in the first round of the playoffs.

The Detroit Tigers will take on the Oakland A's in the first round of the playoffs. The match-up wasn't finalized until late Wednesday after the A's beat the Rangers 12-5, and the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 14-2. The Tigers had clinched their spot in the playoffs Monday. First pitch for the game will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Comerica Park, according to the Tigers website. The series will be a rematch of the 2006 American League Championship Series, which the Tigers won. The Tigers will also play Sunday; that game time has not been determined. As of Thursday morning, tickets to  Saturday night's game were still available for $40-$80; here's where you buy them online.

For Detroit Tigers fans, optimism rises from solid ground as the team relocates from Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, FL, to Comerica Park for Thursday's opener against Boston. Last year's Central Division champions, who fell two games short of reaching the World Series, have gained power hitter Prince Fielder. His addition to the lineup fuels headlines like this one Sunday in The New York Times: Tigers Poised to Break Through. "Predicting a champion is wildly imperfect . . . but these Tigers have that look," Times sportswriter Tyler Kepner observes. "In [Miguel] …
