A 6-year-old Clawson boy was placed in his mother's custody after Troy Police arrested the boy's father on a charge of operating while intoxicated as the boy was in the front passenger seat. The 44-year-old father was reported to Troy Police at about 9:10 p.m. by a concerned citizen after exiting Interstate-75 at 14 Mile Road. Officers found the man's car at 14 Mile and Stephenson Highway, driving partially in the left lane and partially in the center turn lane. The man was stopped and officers reported that he smelled of intoxicants and had slurred speech. He failed all five sobriety tests, breath testing at .16 percent, or twice the legal limit of .08. The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.
Clawson Police were called to Hair Razor's Salon early Saturday morning around 10 a.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a car had gone through the building. While no injuries were reported, extensive damage was done to the salon, located at 469 W. 14 Mile Road. The 81-year-old female driver had attempted to park her car, accidentally accelerating rather than braking. The mistake caused the woman’s car to jump the parking block and enter the building. The driver was not cited but referred to the Secretary of State's Office for an evaluation.

The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.
Clawson Police were called to a home in the 500 block of Roth Boulevard on Nov. 16 around 1:50 a.m. A resident stated that he observed an unidentified man running through backyards and jumping fences. The caller was alerted to the subject by his dog's excessive barking inside the house. When he looked out, he saw a man in his mid 20's wearing all black, climbing over his privacy fence. He then proceeded to let his dog out, which scared off the man who hopped the fence and began running westbound down Roth. The caller later said he saw the man walking the opposite way on Roth a short while later. Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call the Clawson Police at 248-435-5000.

Clawson Police are searching for a suspect accused of committing fraud at a local pizza parlor. A man entered the Jet's Pizza on W. 14 Mile Road near closing time on Oct. 27. After placing a small order, the man proceeded to pay. He provided the cashier with three separate one-hundred dollar bills, which he asked the cashier to break down into smaller bills for him. This led into five minutes of breaking down other bills as well. After the suspect left Jet's Pizza and employees proceeded to close up for the night, it was then noticed the cash register was a few hundred dollars short from the fraud. Video surveillance shows the suspect placing money into his pocket, while he proceeds to speak with the cashier and break down his bills. …

Three home invasions have been reported to the Clawson Police Department by residents since Oct. 19. According to Detective Lt. Scott Sarvello, officers believe the three crimes may be connected, with the suspect entering and exiting the property on foot or by bicycle. The first crime happened on Oct. 19 in the 300 block of West Tacoma; the second on Oct. 24 in the 200 block of Park Drive; and the third as recently as Oct. 25 in the 200 block of Lincoln. In each of the separate incidents, the suspect entered the home by way of an unlocked window during the daytime, when the victims were at work. Clawson Police were called to Paris Nail and Spa Tuesday afternoon by a customer there. According to police, an employee of the business stated the customer was upset over the quality of the work she received. A disagreement over money ensued and the employee then proceeded to ask the customer to leave. When police arrived on the scene, the customer had already left.

On Sept. 26, a monthly customer of the Super 8 Motel in Clawson asked the manager if her bill could be lowered. After being denied, the customer paid for a few nights' stays in advance. A couple of days later, the customer said she saw online reviews of the motel that claimed there were bed bugs there. She showed the reviews to the manager, saying she had noticed suspicious bumps/bites on her arm that will be checked out by a doctor. The manager refunded her money for the nights she would no longer be staying, and then proceeded to ask her to leave. The woman began arguing and Clawson Police were called to break up the situation. A Canton resident made a recent report to Clawson police saying that he received a counterfeit bill from the Dairy O approximately one month ago. The man told police he was handed a $10 bill as change for his purchase. However, when he tried to use the bill at a gas station at a later time, he was then told it was counterfeit, according to police reports. The man told police he wanted to exchange the bill with the business saying he felt it was their responsibility but the business refused, saying there no way to verify that the bill was originally from there. Officers took the bill from the man and disposed of it correctly.

A Clawson woman reported hearing what she believed to be gunshots the evening of Sept. 8 on the 200 block of West 14 Mile Road, according to a report from the Clawson Police Department. The woman told police she saw a group of youths outside two blocks away from where she was. She reported that the noise had sounded like gunshots, though she did not see a gun. Police arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate the group of youths. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Clawson Police at 248-435-5000.

A man who owns a business on the 100 block of Kinross Avenue told police he believes someone shot a BB gun through his window some time between noon Saturday and 8 a.m. Monday. The owner said when he arrived at the building Monday morning he observed a hole in the window on the east side of the building. A police report says there was damage to the first window of the double pane, however it didn't pentrate through the second window. There are no suspects. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Clawson Police at 248-435-5000.
