What Was Your Favorite Moment of the Presidential Inauguration?

There were several highlights during the inauguration ceremony. Tell us what you found to be most memorable.

President Barack Obama was sworn in today for a second term in office. The day was historic in that Obama is one of just a handful of men who have been re-elected to lead the United States. But also that his swearing in fell on the annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr's birthday and in the 50th anniversary year of King's March on Washington to deliver the "I Have a Dream" speech. Today's festivities included a 19-minute speech from the president in which he gave a shout out to southeast Michigan when he said, "Our journey is not complete until all our children from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherised, and always safe from harm." Presidential Inauguration 2013: Where, What and Who to Watch

Here's your guide to the inauguration of President Barack Obama today.

The Presidential Inauguration takes place today in Washington, D.C. The festivities will include the Presidential Swearing-in Ceremony, Inaugural Address, Inaugural Parade and numerous inaugural balls and galas honoring President Barack Obama for his second term. The official theme for the 2013 inauguration is “Faith in America’s Future." 11:30 a.m.: The oath of office will be administered on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Following the oath of office, the President will give his inaugural address. Tickets are required, but not for those who wish to watch the swearing-in ceremony on large screens that will be set up along the National Mall. My point of view, C-Span, shows the official T V, with out all the slants, as neutral as they can get........ actually at times you see even more.......... longer with no commercials. As far as performers, 99% of the performers are not performing, cause they weren't asked? When your the President, there are some things you do have a say in.... before the daughters take over...... lol   more ›
