Customers Shop Local in Clawson on Small Business Saturday

Crowds packed the shops and restaurants in and around the city.

It was a day to rival Black Friday. The third annual Small Business Saturday took place Nov. 24. Mom-and-pop stores across the country held sales, discounts and special events of their own to bring the customers out and about. Over at Leon & Lulu in Clawson, the store even had cookies and hot cocoa for hungry shoppers to warm up with on the 35 degree day. "When you support small businesses, it gives back to the community" said Kari. "Those dollars that …

What is Small Business Saturday and why should you support it?

Small Business Saturday is “a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities,” the U.S. Small Business Administration explains on its website. Founded by American Express in 2010, the shopping holiday drew over 100 million people last year, …

When a list like this is done. One is bound to leave out some body.
