Consider bringing a bottle of wine to your next get-together during the holidays.
The holidays are quickly approaching, and so is the time for gift giving. If you are in search of a quick and simple present that still shows you care, consider gifting a bottle of wine. Patch visited Off the Wagon Market in Clawson, home to a wide variety of wines and ales. Manager Andy Abbo gave us his take on what's popular this time of year. Off the Wagon also sells four packs of smaller ounce bottles that make a great stocking-stuffer. Enough for a glass or two, the miniature bottles come in Chardonnay, White Zinfandel and more. Seasonal ale is also a big seller during this time of year and are an excellent gift for those who aren’t big fans of wine. Off the Wagon offers Samuel Adams Winter Lager, White Christmas and Chocolate Bock. …

Cozy up by the fire with one of these holiday flicks.
It sure is cold outside and though we may not have seen much snow yet this winter, it can still feel like the holidays when you cozy up with a spirited film. Check out Blair Memorial Library and peruse their wide selection of movies which includes plenty of winter classics (all of which are clearly labeled with a candy cane sticker). Here are some of Patch's picks. 1. Miracle on 34th Street (1947) When a nice old man is institutionalized after claiming to be Santa Claus, a young lawyer decides to defend him by arguing in court that he is the real thing. 2. The Christmas Story (1983) Ralphie has to convince his parents, teachers, and Santa that a Red Ryder BB gun really is the perfect gift for the 1940s. 3. Scrooged (1988) A selfish TV …

The events calendar is a great place for local churches to post dates and times for special and regular services.
Between remembering to turn off the Christmas lights before bed and which sweater to get little Johnny, there are infinite things to remember during the holidays. Don't let church service be one of them. Clawson Patch is the perfect place to post special and regularly scheduled church services, so people can check one more thing off their to-do list this holiday season. Adding a church service on Patch is easy to do. Just click on the Events tab at the top of the page, and then click on Add an Event. Simple! Be sure to include as much information as possible – especially if a particular service is for adults only. There's nothing more embarrassing than being the only person in church with a crying baby. Yikes.
