Images: Regeneration Celebrates Grand Opening

A resale shop has opened in Clawson, offering a wide variety of clothing and accessories for men, women and children.

A resale shop in downtown Clawson opened its doors to the public Saturday morning. On its grand opening day, Regeneration was busy with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments, live music and several customers browsing the store's racks.

This is the second location for Regeneration, which offers clothing for men, women and children; the first store is located at 23700 Woodward in Pleasant Ridge. Owners Nicole Freud and Melanie Williams said they were outgrowing the other store and needed a second location for all the merchandise.

Among other reasons for opening a second store was the growing demand for resale during tough economic times, and the owners wanted to build a customer base in a different part of Metro Detroit, said Freud, 31, of Berkley.

"Some people who would have never shopped in resale are turning to it," Freud said. "We give them a place where they can shop affordably."

The resale store sells everything from career wear and conservative clothing to funky fun styles, vintage and costume wear. It also has handbags, jewelry, shoes and other accessories. Prices range from 50 cents to $200 for high-end designers, Freud said.

Customers may bring resale items in the Clawson store on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The store will pay 30 percent of the resale price or 45 percent of the resale price in a store credit.

Clawson store hours are from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Visit regenerationclothing.org for more information.
