Get Out: Blindfolded Man Driving, Arts Alive Festival and More

A roundup of weekend events in Clawson.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Clawson Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and events to attend in the area:

1. Blindfold Drive Through Clawson

Where/when: Saturday at noon outside the on 14 Mile and Main Street.

Why go: Wunderground Magic Shop will celebrate the shop's 40th anniversary (coming up on April 1) on Saturday as mind tapped artist, George Tait drives blindfolded through the parking lot of Pizza Hut on 14 Mile and Main Street. Magicians will be dressed in rabbit suits as they watch among the crowd and a fascinating illusion will take place right before your eyes.

2. Fish Fry

Where/when: from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday

Why go: The Knights of Columbus is having an all-you-can-eat fish fry on Friday. Included in your dinner are both baked and fried fish, crab cakes, mac and cheese, baked or fried potatoes, rolls, vegetables, dessert and a beverage.

Price:  $8 adults, $7.50 seniors, $4.50 children

3. Mom 2 Mom Sale

Where/when: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday

Why go: Guardian Angels School is hosting a Mom to Mom Sale Saturday. There are expected to be more than 80 tables of gently used clothing and toys, plus big ticket items.

Pricing: $2 early bird admission and $1 regular admission after 9 a.m.

4. Small Town, Green Heart Arts Alive Festival

Where/when: , 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday

Why go: This family event will include music performances from school orchestras and choirs, an art show, art activities and the the "Starfish" group will interact with poet, musician and puppeteer, Kevin Kameraad. 

5. Go Wild For Michigan Animals

Where/when: on Saturday 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Why go: The Blair Memorial Library has invited a naturalist from Oakland County Parks in to give an educational program of wildlife in Michigan. The naturalist will bring with him a reptile and amphibian from Michigan for everyone to meet. You must register for this free program.
