Halloween in Clawson: Party, Pub Crawl, Trick-or-Treat Trail and More

A list of events to plan for as Halloween approaches.

If you're looking for ways to celebrate Halloween this year, look no further. Clawson has events for both kids and adults that will give you plenty of reasons to buy a few costumes.

Come trick or treat early this year at . Beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 30, children clad in Halloween costumes will walk the park trail and receive sweets handed out by representatives from local businesses. Please bring a flashlight and a bag for candy collecting. A pumpkin-carving contest will take place prior to the event at 5 p.m. This year's event is different because there will be three entrances to the trail. Cider will be served afterward.

The City of Clawson will holds its annual citywide Halloween Party at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at the and all are invited to attend. Doughnuts, cider and other treats will be available. There also will be games and the Clawson Lions Club will judge a costume contest for children.

The will host Trick of Treasure 2011 from noon-3 p.m. Oct. 29. Kids in Halloween costumes can walk the downtown area and stop at businesses for toys and allergy-free treats. There may even be a few tricks along the way! The event is for kids age 12 and under accompanied by a parent.

 The Downtown Developmen Authority will also sponsor a Pumpkin Pub Crawl on Oct. 29 for adults to put on their costumes and stop at the downtown bars for drink specials, costume judging and free pizza. The bars featured in the event are Tavern on the Main, Moose Winooskis, Black Lotus, Renshaw Lounge and Royal Kubo. Participants can register at Leon & Lulu from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $10 a person.

Scarecrow Contest

The Downtown Development Authority has invited downtown businesses to participate in its annual Scarecrow Contest. Each business owner is delivered a scarecrow frame to decorate and hang on the light post outside of their shop. If you're driving down Main Street or 14 Mile, you will notice the scarecrows hanging up.
