Poll: What Do You Think of The Snow-less Weather?

Southeast Michiganders may find it unusual that the region has seen minimal snowfall accumulations since winter started.

The holidays came and went. And southeast Michigan didn't see much of a "white Christmas." We are now about enter the second week of January and still, there's hardly any snow in the forecast. On Friday, temperatures in metro Detroit were around 50 degrees. This weather pattern has many Michiganders asking: where's the snow?

According to wxyz.com (Channel 7 Detroit), we've received less then a half inch of snow since the start of 2012. The average snowfall accumulations for January are about 13 inches.

"The short-term changes, as usual, can be blamed on the jet stream winds that steer storms and divide warm and cold air," wxzy.com reports.

But don't expect Michigan to skip winter. The web site says in the coming weeks we will see "bursts of significant snow and numbing cold, but thaws and dry stretches will likely keep coming as well."
