Weekend Planner: International Dinner, Miss Clawson Pageants and More
A round up of events in Clawson and surrounding areas.
1. Fish Fry
The Knights of Columbus Hall hosts a Fish Fry every Friday from 4:30-7 p.m. The meal includes baked and fried fish, crab cakes, rolls, coleslaw, vegetables, mac and cheese, french fries and baked potatoes. Desert and drinks are included. The cost is $8 for adults; $4.50 for children (12 and under); $7.50 for seniors.
2. International Dinner
The annual International Dinner will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Hunter Community Center. The dinner features foods with origins all over the world. There will be main dishes, desserts and live music. The cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children under 12. Proceeds will benefit the Clawson Senior Center and the Prison Outreach Program.
3. Jr. Miss Clawson/Miss Clawson Pageants
The combined Miss Clawson and Jr. Miss Clawson pageants will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Clawson High School. The Miss Clawson contestants are: Jacey Schuetz, Lisa Owens, Melissa Engel, Olivia Kulesza, and Elizabeth Kurkowski. The Jr. Miss Clawson contestants are: Jamie Cowan, Ashley McGivern, Lauren Peters, Diana Davis, Josie Campbell, Emily Jacobs, Stacey Gomoll, Shelby DuFresne, and Endia Land. Admission is $10.

4. Lasagna Bake-Off
At 4 p.m. Sunday there will be a lasagna bake-off at Mirepoix, the cooking school at Holiday Market. The cost for guests will be $60 per person, $100 per couple and $30 for children under 15; all proceeds will be donated to Gilda's Club. To reserve your spot at this event, call Sharon Transit at Gilda's at 248-577-0800.
5. Royal Oak Farmers Market
If you're looking for something to do Saturday morning, the Royal Oak Farmers Market opens at 7 a.m. On Saturdays, the market features farmers and specialty food vendors. On Sundays, the market opens at 8 a.m. and features antique and collectibles vendors.
