Police Blotter: Tree Stolen From Flower Bed, Home Lock Tampered

The following information was provided by the Clawson Police Department.

A woman on Sunday morning told Clawson police a blue spruce tree was stolen from the flower bed in front of her house in the 1200 block of Main Street. A police report indicated the theft occurred sometime between 1-6 a.m., when the woman observed dirt on the sidewalk and the tree missing. Dirt also was found on the roadway in front of the victim's house. Police said it appeared that someone removed the tree and placed it in their vehicle.

Attempted breaking and entering

A resident arriving home about 7 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Broadacre Avenue told police someone tampered with the lock on her front door. The woman  said she realized there was something wrong with the lock when she inserted the key and had a difficult time turning it. Officers said the door frame had a small indentation near the lock where someone may have tried to pry the lock open. Police indicated there wern't any fingerprints on the lock. The resident told police nothing appeared to be missing from her house. There are no suspects.
