Police Blotter: Purse Snatched at CVS, Car Stolen on Bellevue

Police seek purse snatcher

A Royal Oak woman told police on Sunday evening that three women plotted and snatched her purse off a shopping cart at the in Clawson.

A police reports says the woman was browsing merchandise in the store when two other women approached her about the cologne she was looking at. After a third woman walked past them, she noticed her black purse was no longer on her cart.

Police say surveillance tapes show three women entering the store and moments later one of the women leaving the store with a purse. About 10 seconds later, police say, the other two women are seen leaving CVS. It it unknown whether the women left the store parking lot on foot or in a vehicle, the report states.

The black purse contained several items including Xanax, $100 in cash and credit and debit cards.

Items stolen from purse

A Royal Oak woman who left her purse at the in Clawson said someone stole $75 in cash and 30 Vicodin pills out of it on April 26. The woman told police she returned to the store to get her purse from an employee and noticed the items were missing. According to a police report, the employee who held the purse said a customer returned it. Police say there was no store surveillance video available to review.

Car stolen on Bellevue

A Clawson man told police someone stole his four-door, orange Grand Prix from his driveway some time between 9 p.m. April 23 and 8 a.m. April 24.

The resident, who lives on the 100 block of Bellevue, said his car was unlocked and the keys were on the floor board at the time of the theft. There were no suspects.

Items stolen from car on Bellevue

A Clawson resident said someone entered his car and stole items some time between 9 p.m. April 23 and 7 a.m. April 24 on the 60 block of Bellevue. The resident reported $2-$3 in change and CDs were taken from his car, police say.

Car entered on High Street

A Clawson woman told police someone entered her car on the 100 block of High Street and went through the glove box. The woman said nothing was stolen, however paperwork from the glove box was thrown all over the car.
