August Primary: Oakland County Elections Guide

Several key positions in Oakland County are up for election this year. The first vote is Aug. 7 for primaries. The vote on the final candidates is Nov. 6.

The terms of several Oakland County elected officials will expire this year and on Aug. 7 voters will be asked to narrow the field in the primary election.

Voters will return to the polls on Nov. 6 to make the final vote. 

Below are the positions up for election and the candidates who are seeking office:

Executive

  • L. Brooks Patterson, of Clarkston (R) (incumbent)
  • E. Wadsworth Sherrod III, of West Bloomfield (R)
  • Kevin Howley, of Huntington Woods (D)

Prosecuting Attorney

  • Mike Bishop, of Rochester (R)
  • Jessica R. Cooper, of Franklin (D) (incumbent)

Sheriff

  • Michael J. Bouchard, of Birmingham (R) (incumbent)
  • James Stevens, of Rochester Hills (R)
  • Jane Felice Boudreau, of West Bloomfield (D)

Clerk/Register of Deeds

  • Bill Bullard Jr., of Highland (R) (incumbent)
  • Lisa Brown, of West Bloomfield (D)

Treasurer

  • Marty Knollenberg, of Troy (R)
  • Andy Meisner, of Huntington Woods (D) (incumbent)

Water Resources Commissioner

  • John P. McCulloch, of Royal Oak (R) (incumbent)
  • Mark Danowski, of Davisburg (D)
  • Jim Nash, of Farmington Hills (D)
