The Clawson City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. Coffee with the council begins at 7 p.m.
Resident to receive music scholarship
The Academy of Music Performance will present a scholarship to 9-year-old Clawson resident McKenzie Kopf who was among several youths to participate in an interactive music workshop at the in May. The activity was sponsored by the Troy-based Academy of Music Performance.
Kopf was selected as the "Most Outstanding Participant of the Day" which involved youth music performances. Kopf will get a seat in an upcoming kids' summer music camps.
The council will vote on a resolution to proclaim Sunday June 12 as Lemonade Day in Clawson. Lemonade Day is an initiative that encourages kids to set up lemonade stands so they can learn and experience entrepreneurship. If the council approves, this will be the first year the city has officially celebrated Lemonade Day. For more information visit detroit.lemonadeday.org.
